The IoT (Internet-of-Things) department includes 3 teams of experienced software engineers, architects and data analysts who further develop and operate sonnen's cloud platform for hundreds of thousands of batteries, EV chargers & heat pumps worldwide.
Our mentality is to solve problems best through a combination of collaboration and code. Already now and in the future, we are developing renewable power energy management and integrating energy market signals.
As part of one of our development teams you will:
Develop and operate sonnen’s IoT platform
Design solutions for data ingestion, real-time processing, persistence and monitoring
Improve the scalability and fault tolerance of our systems
Design, analyze, and improve algorithms for energy management
Implement protocols, APIs and processes
Collaborate, share your knowledge with and learn from peer developers and stakeholders
Work in a remote team setup, optionally from one of the sonnen offices in Berlin or near Wildpoldsried
Your profile:
Programming skills: Prior experience with Elixir/Erlang or motivation to learn it. Experience with any functional programming language (e.g. Clojure, OCaml, Haskell, or Scala). Experience with distributed systems is a plus.
Analytical and conceptual thinker
Code excellence: you write code that is tested and can be easily understood and maintained by others
Operational skills: Experience in maintaining systems, ideally with high load. Experience with Docker, Terraform, relational and NoSQL databases is a plus
Impact driven working style: Automation and decision-making based on evidence is a must
Fluent English and the ability to have social conversation in German
