Tasks
As a Senior Applied Scientist (f/m/d) at paretos, you will actively drive the development of cutting-edge machine learning and optimization technology that helps our customers optimize the most complex real-world operations with our product. Your responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable single- and multi-objective optimization methods for our platform to solve complex problems in supply chain and beyond
- Partner closely with our ml and engineering team to drive design and implementation of a scalable product architecture for our forecasting and optimization backend
- Drive research, experiments and implementation of stochastic optimization methods for problems with uncertainty
- Lead the design and implementation of proof of concepts for high-value customers
- Engage and collaborate with our product, ml, engineering and design team members to drive product features from idea to success
- Actively participate in knowledge sharing on optimization and machine learning
- You will work closely with tech leadership team at paretos
- 4+ years of experience in optimization and operations research as well as experience with optimization methods (discrete and/or continuous) and operation research (OR)
- Track record of bringing optimization cases in production
- Domain expertise in supply chain problems, preferrably retail or logistics
- Experience in designing and implementing scalable optimization methods as part of a product
- Touchpoint with machine learning approaches e.g. time series forecasting
- Advanced understanding of linear algebra
- Proficient with Python - 4+ years of experience
- Proficient with OR libraries and solvers like pulp, google-or, pyomo - 3+ years of experience
- Motivation to work together in a team of brilliant minds
- Fluent in English, German speaking is a plus
