We now have an opportunity of a Regional HR Director in Europe. This role will oversee all HR team activities in Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Hungary, Sweden and Romania.

Job Purpose

The Regional HR Director, Europe, is a strategic yet hands on leadership role responsible for overseeing all human resources functions across the European region. This includes developing and executing HR strategies, policies, and programs to support the organization's overall business objectives as well as the global HR strategy. In this role, you will work closely with senior management and collaborate with HR teams in various European countries, with other regions and with the global HR Functions to ensure alignment on global HR initiatives. On a day to day basis, the Regional HR Director, Europe, will handle or direct activities related to employee relations, compensation, HRIS system activities (SuccessFactors), recruiting, succession planning, organizational and talent development and other duties.

Travel is required for this role and may take up to 25% of a regular working month.

Job Responsibilities

As a Regional Director for Europe, your contribution will be pivotal in shaping the success and growth of the organization within the region:

  • Strategic HR Planning - In partnership with the senior business leaders, develop, implement, and influence the regional footprint and optimal workforce model.
  • Talent Acquisition & Management - Diagnose people or capabilities gaps (e.g. performance, talent, compensation) between actual and desired results and develop targeted interventions and development strategies.
  • Employee Relations & Engagement - Drive employee engagement initiatives and programs to foster a positive work environment and a continuous learning and high-performance culture.
  • HR Compliance & Policies - In partnership with local HR Managers, accountable for compliance with local labor laws and regulations across European countries, and maintenance of up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation changes.
  • Change Management & Efficiency -Lead and support organizational change initiatives, providing guidance on change management strategies and communication plans. Be an active driver of change within the European HR teams towards continuous improvement of service levels and process standardization across countries.
  • Collaboration & Communication - Foster effective communication and collaboration between HR teams in different European countries, between the global regions and functions and other functions within the organization.

Requirements & Qualifications

Ideally you will have a Master's Degree (M.A) or equivalent; and ten years progressive leadership experience with at least 5 years in a regional / multi country capacity. A Global HR Certification would be preferable, as well as strong understanding of European employment laws and legislation. If you have previously worked within a matrix structured manufacturing company this will certainly strengthen your application, however we would be keen to hear from applications with a variety of industry experience.
