THE ROLE & THE TEAM

As a Lead Market Development, you act as partner to the territory General Manager by developing the long-term country strategy, translating it into concrete initiatives, and leading their execution. Your focus will be on the Nordic region, covering Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway.

WHAT WE'D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • Build an understanding of the local market conditions and customer expectations, as well as the competitive environment in which Zalando operates, draw insights from facts to inform and drive strategic decisions
  • Lead the development of the long-term country strategy and drive the translation into concrete initiatives or projects
  • Drive alignment within the extended country team to support implementation of country strategies
  • Lead high priority projects/initiatives end-to-end: from briefing, analysis, and creation of concepts, to presenting your findings to the leadership teams and owning the implementation
  • Cooperate with a variety of senior management stakeholders throughout the company, including the top level management of Zalando
  • Shape and champion an inclusive culture and diverse team environment

WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

  • 7+ years of experience in Consulting, e-com, FMCG, ideally in a Strategy or Business Development role
  • You have a passion for ecommerce/fashion/tech, and an understanding of online business models
  • You are customer centric and bring knowledge of local consumers, competitive set, and market dynamics in the Nordics
  • You are an authentic and mission-driven person who doesn't shy away from sparring with and managing senior stakeholders
  • You are able to take initiative, use good judgement, manage deadlines and carry multiple projects through to completion.
  • You are versed in compiling strategy papers and in presenting these to senior management
  • You have a proven high-quality problem solving capability and outstanding analytical skills
